Vista Motorhomes
Terms and Conditions of EU Hire
These conditions will apply in addition to Vista Motorhomes ‘Terms Conditions of Hire’ for any use of a hire vehicle outside the UK.
Vehicles must not be taken outside mainland UK without prior written agreement from Vista Motorhomes. If you plan to travel outside the UK, you must inform us at the time of booking. Permission may be granted only for European Union member countries plus, Gibraltar, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland. Permission to travel outside the UK is entirely at the discretion of Vista Motorhomes and we reserve the right to decline permission. Any permission granted is subject to the following conditions.
- An additional daily charge for EU hire (rates as given at the time of booking) must be paid.
- The hirer must provide details of the planned destinations and countries the vehicle will be taken to and though, permission will be specific to those countries. If the vehicle is taken to a destination for which permission has not been granted, Vista Motorhomes may terminate the hire and take all necessary steps to recover the vehicle.
Vista Motorhomes will provide the following in addition to the standard UK hire package.
- Fully comprehensive EU insurance for 1 driver (extra drivers can be added as an optional extra)
- EU Breakdown cover
- VE103 (vehicle on hire certificate)
- High-visibility reflective jackets (enough for the maximum number of berths)
- Warning triangle
- Headlamp beam deflectors
- UK sticker
- First aid kit
Insurance: cover is as detailed in our standard terms and conditions for hire, with cover to include European Union member countries plus, Gibraltar, Monaco, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland.
Breakdown: EU breakdown cover is included in the EU hire package. In the event of a breakdown, this will provide initial assistance with the aim that the vehicle be repaired at the roadside where possible, this could be a permanent or temporary repair. If the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside; recovery to a local repairer – alternative transport or accommodation is an option, whilst the vehicle is repaired. In the event that the vehicle cannot be repaired by the planned return date, breakdown cover includes assistance in getting the hirer and their party back to Vista Motorhomes’ registered address. The vehicle may be repatriated separately.
Other responsibilities of the hirer: It is the responsibility of the hirer to check the specific requirements for any country or countries the motorhome will enter or pass through, and to ensure compliance with requirements of those countries required. For example, breathalyser kits required for driving in France. It is also the responsibility of the hirer to check the requirements for their own personal documentation.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is returned to the UK by the date and time agreed. Failure or delays, for example, ferry delays, does not exclude the hirer from late return charges. It is recommended that travel plans take account of potential delays and the hirer takes out appropriate insurance.
By booking EU hire with Vista Motorhomes you are accepting these EU Hire Terms and Conditions, in addition to our standard Terms and Conditions of Hire.
